Alison Inglis is a Registered Psychologist in Ontario.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree (honours in Psychology) from Concordia University in
Montreal, a Master of Arts degree (Psychology) from York University in Toronto, and a
doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from OISE/University of Toronto (Human Development and Applied
Psychology). She has worked in health-care and educational settings since 1988 with a
focus in the past eight years on psychoeducational assessment of learning exceptionalities
in children and adolescents. Dr. Inglis has authored and co-authored pieces for edited
books and journals in the areas of psychology and education. Her most recent work (as
third author with Drs. Andrew Biemiller, Donald Meichenbaum and Michal Shany) appears as a
chapter in the edited book Developing self-regulated learners: From teaching to
self-reflective practice, Guildford Press, 1998. She has also presented at many
education and psychology conferences (Canadian Psychological Association, American
Psychological Association, American Educational Research Association).
Dr. Inglis has done research in the areas of self-directed learning, cross-age tutoring
programs, and speech and language development. She has taught psychology courses at the
community college and university levels. She currently resides with her husband and two
daughters in Brockville, Ontario. |
